Our commitment

Accessibility

Ambessa aims to make this website clear, inclusive and usable across devices and different ways of navigating.

Last updated: 9 August 2026

This statement applies to the public Ambessa Publishing website. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it comfortably and independently.

Using this website

The website has been designed so that you should be able to:

  • navigate its main content using a keyboard;
  • see a clear focus indicator around the item you are using;
  • zoom and resize text without losing the main content;
  • use the site on phones, tablets and larger screens;
  • use light or dark display settings; and
  • understand images from their text descriptions where appropriate.

Our accessibility standard

We are developing and checking the website against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

The website has been reviewed through self-assessment and automated checks during development. It has not yet had a complete independent accessibility audit, so we do not currently claim that every part fully conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA.

Known limitations

We know about the following areas where some visitors may need additional help:

  • Book-cover artwork: each cover has a short text description identifying the book and author, but the description does not reproduce every word or visual detail within the artwork. The book title, author and description are also provided as ordinary page text.
  • External services: purchase links open Amazon or Audible, and our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile for spam protection. These services are controlled by their providers and may behave differently from the Ambessa website.
  • Assistive-technology testing: we have not yet tested every page with every combination of browser, operating system and screen reader. We will update this statement as broader testing is completed.

Tell us about a problem

If any part of the website is difficult to use, or you need information in another format, please tell us. On our contact form, choose Website or accessibility. You can also email contact@ambessapublishing.com.

Open the contact form

It helps if you tell us which page caused the problem, what you were trying to do and which browser, device or assistive technology you were using. We will review the problem and reply as soon as reasonably possible.

How we will improve

Accessibility is part of our continuing design, content and testing work. We will review this statement after significant website changes, when testing identifies a new limitation, and at least once a year.
